Are you searching for a rubber which is perfectly matched to the new plastic balls? Then the Omega V rubber series (manufactured by the Korean company Xiom) is what you are looking for! The
Xiom Omega V Pro has a slightly softer (47.5 °) sponge compared to the Omega V Asia (50 °). Hence, the Omega V Pro exhibits a bit
more control, and
more safety during serves and returns. Still, this TT rubber allows you to play offensive openers. For these reasons, the Xiom Omega V Pro is easier to handle compared to the Omega V Asia.
You can also use the
Xiom Omega V Pro from the half distance because the rubber allows rotational topspins from every position. Due to this, this TT rubber is suitable for variably acting offensive players, who not only want to score by means of much penetrating power, but also by means of soft topspins, flips, or safe blocks.
The Omega V Pro is - similar to the Omega V Asia - a
very fast, and hard rubber. However, the Pro is slightly softer.
Below you can find an overview of the differences between the rubbers from the Omega V series:
- Xiom Omega V Asia: This is the hardest rubber within the whole series. It is suitable for aggressive, offensive players.
- Xiom Omega V Pro: This TT rubber is slightly slower and softer than the Omega V Asia.
- Xiom Omega V Tour: The "middle" of all rubbers from this series. Still very fast!
- Xiom Omega V Euro: This is the softest Omega V rubber, which results in an increased amount of control.
