With a 3.5 mm thick balsa core, the blade is not only 5-10 grams heavier (weight 80 – 85 grams), but it also plays a bit more controlled than the Balsa Carbo Fleece. Above the core veneer is an Awan layer, which is also intended to provide more control and ball security. Under the Yaya outer veneers are the Carbo Fibre layers. The combination of stable synthetic fibers and Yaya wood ensures a consistent, almost vibration-free, and moderately fast playing behavior. The extremely important switch between precise, controlled balls and dynamic, spin-rich attacks for safe, variable active play works extremely well with the Balsa Carbo Fibre.
The more offensive variant - Donic Balsa Carbo Fleece:
The veneer construction of the
Balsa Carbo Fleece differs in three points from the slower Balsa Carbo Fibre. First of all, the core veneer made of balsa is slightly thicker at 5 millimeters. This ensures the relatively low total weight of 70 – 75 grams. Additionally, the blade offers noticeably higher basic speed and thus better dynamics at the ball impact point. This is further enhanced by the special carbon fleece layers with their stiffness, which lie directly above the core veneer. Together with the intermediate veneers made of Limba and the Yaya outer veneers, this results in a fast yet sensitive playing behavior. With the Balsa Carbo Fleece, very variable and effective play is possible, especially in the offensive area.
