Tibhar Aurus Rubbers

If you are searching for an inexpensive and high-performance rubber series, you will find Tibhar Aurus rubbers. These rubbers are very popular among table tennis players. This is because they are very durable, and exhibit a tense, robust, and catchy topsheet.

New rubbers within this series are the Aurus Prime, and the Aurus Select. Both are not only more modern, but exhibit a different rubber composition / concept compared to the former versions Aurus, Aurus Soft, and Aurus Sound. The thinner topsheet (upper/outer rubber layer) is expected to induce a larger potential of dynamics, catapult, and rotation which is mainly supported when choosing the maximum sponge thickness. This is possible because the thin (hence light) topsheet allows for additional material (sponge). Tibhar Vari Spin

A closer look at fast and hard TOP rubbers: The Tibhar Aurus, and Tibhar Aurus Prime

The Tibhar Aurus convinces attackers since many years. Because of its hard and direct feeling for the game, uncompromising attackers appreciate this rubber a lot. Although the Aurus has a low level of catapult-like effects, and a relatively flat trajectory of the ball, this rubber exhibits an enormous potential for rotation (when appropriately hitting the ball). The positive properties of this table tennis rubber become best evident when paying close to the table. Finishers and hard counter topspins are dangerous weapons, and a basic inventory of the Tibhar Aurus.

The Tibhar Aurus Prime is somewhat similar, but also exhibits certain differences. The thinner topsheet makes this rubber a bit more flexible. In addition, the sponge exhibits a larger catapult-like effect making this rubber very dynamical, and fast. Hence, the biggest difference of the Aurus Prime lies in its extreme dynamics. One need less physical activity/exertion, and less arm pull in order to activate this rubber.

Note, however, that you will need a sophisticated and perfected technique in order to fully exploit the potential, and to fully control this rubber. Its enormous speed, and its huge spin potential make the Aurus Prime a dangerous weapon for the attacking game. Duels based on counter-topspins from the half distance are the major ingredient to really get the dynamics of this rubber going!

In situations where you have a bad position to the ball, or where there are controlled strokes, much will be demanded of your own abilities. This is because this rubber is not easy to play with: Forgiving mistakes and errors is not one of its strengths. If, however, you know when and how to use the Tibhar Aurus Prime, you can count on an explosive, dangerous table tennis rubber. Furthermore, there are positive effects of the rubber properties on the gaming behavior when using the new plastic table tennis balls. This is because the dynamic properties of this rubber compensate the loss of speed and rotation induced by the new plastic balls.

For more variability during your game: Tibhar Aurus Select, and Tibhar Aurus Soft

The Tibhar Aurus Select mediates a feeling for the gaming which is clearly softer. Although the Select contains a medium-hard sponge, its special composition and structure of the rubber, and its softer topsheet (only used for the Select version!) make this rubber catapult-like, and flexible.

During the game, the Aurus Select is characterized by much control, and safety. Furthermore, another strength of this rubber is its high trajectory of the ball when playing spinny opening topspins. The Tibhar Aurus Select is an interesting option for players who prefer a game based on spinny strokes with much feeling.

A counterexample is the Tibhar Aurus Soft. The tense topsheet, and the medium-soft sponge of this rubber are ideal to lead a dangerous, medium-fast attacking game. By means of the direct touch one never has the impression that the Aurus Soft might be too soft. Interestingly, this rubber exhibits good dynamics when playing from the half distance.

The Tibhar Aurus Soft is also recommended as an upgrade to rubbers such as the Andro Hexer Duro, Xiom Vega Europe, or the TSP Ventus Spin. This is because the Aurus Soft is faster, exhibits more spin, and is more dangerous - however, without significant loss of control.

The spinny sound machine: Tibhar Aurus Sound

Within the Tibhar Aurus rubber family, the Tibhar Aurus Sound is a kind of special position. This rubber has an extremely soft sponge, resulting in a rich sound with all strokes. This table tennis rubber also guarantees a good ball control with every stroke you do.

The pronounced catapult-effect induces a direct, but also controlled way of playing. This is caused by the tense topsheet. So this rubber is not just a run-of-the-mill rubber! If you prefer very soft, but high-performance soft rubbers, you really should test the Tibhar Aurus Sound!
