GEWO was originally founded in 1898 in Gelnhausen by Peter Wolf as a saddlery. Two generations later, in 1956, GEWO successfully began producing table tennis tables. Within approximately 10 years, GEWO became one of the leading producers of table tennis tables in Europe. However, in the following years, the business declined until Frank Koschnick and Wolfgang Sohns took over GEWO in 1991. Within 10 years, they transformed it into a major, successful brand in Germany. They decided to offer the full range of table tennis products, focusing exclusively on high-quality products for all skill levels. Since then, GEWO has experienced remarkable growth.
