With the introduction of the Omega V series, Xiom reacts to the new plastic ball, and its different gaming properties. The Xiom Omega 5 Asia is the hardest rubber within this series (50 °). The extremely hard sponge was combined with a very catchy and spinny topsheet. The hard sponge causes a quite flat bounce of the balls, and a large directness.
Due to the very fast and hard conception of the Omega V Asia, it is very suitable for players who act close to the table, using blocks and hard shots to score. But, also soft(er) topspin openers are possible. During the serve and return game, this TT rubber exhibits a slightly decreased control (which is caused by the very hard sponge).
If you are preferring a very aggressive, hard, and offensive table tennis game close to the table, the Xiom Omega V Asia will be worth a test. In case you prefer a slightly softer and slower rubber, we recommend you to take a look at the other rubbers from the Omega 5 series.
