Victas VJ > 07 Stiff - Presentation of another new offensive rubber from Victas
The tradition of the company Victas (name since 2017) reaches far back into the past. In 1931, this company was founded under the name Yamato Takkyu AG, and was specialized in the production and sale of celluloid ping pong balls. Ever since, many things in table tennis have changed considerably, and the company successfully grew up under changing and demanding constellations. This is also true for Victas table tennis rubbers. As a result, the latest series (Victas VJ > 07) is now available. One of these is the
Victas VJ > 07 Stiff, which is made in Japan. Also, this rubber combines a Japanese and medium-hard sponge with a topsheet optimized for spin!
Victas VJ 07 Stiff - Properties of this rubber
Let us directly start with the medium-hard Tension sponge, which has a hardness of 45°, and is open-pored. This means that the sponge is a bit softer compared to the Victas VJC > 07 Sticky Extra. For this reason, the ball is able to penetrate the whole rubber a bit deeper. As a consequence, the
Victas VJ 07 Stiff exhibits a
considerable catapult-effect, and a slightly
increased overall speed compared to the Sticky Extra. These features should be very helpful for offensive table tennis players!
Another highlight of this new Victas rubber is its topsheet, which is
optimized for spin. It was designed in such a ways that the movement of your arm and racket is perfectly transmitted toward the ball. This means, there is a high degree of adhesive / static friction allowing to create highly rotational balls. In addition, the
geometry of the pimples of this rubber was optimized. This further supports the development of incredible spin.
The necessary control of this rubber is also present due to the slightly decreased hardness compared to the Victas VJC > 07 Sticky Extra. This is very important in order to avoid unnecessary errors - at least to a certain point. The
Victas VJ 07 Stiff is, hence, an offensive ping pong rubber perfect for modern attackers who prefer highly rotational strokes (e.g. topspin, serves, etc.) to score. For this reason, the gaming strategy is classified "offensive" (Off).
The new rubbers from the VJ > 07 series are summarized for you below:
- Victas VJC > 07 Sticky Extra: A hybrid rubber, which exhibits a combination of a highly sticky topsheet and a quite hard Japanese sponge (47.5°). Good control! Gaming style: Off!
- Victas VJ > 07 Stiff: Slightly softer compared to the VJC > 07 Sticky Extra. Still, the VJ > 07 Stiff has a medium-hard (45°) open-pored sponge. Similar control, but a bit faster than the Sticky Extra. Very good spin potential! Gaming system: Offensive (Off)!
- Victas VJ > 07 Regular: A relatively soft (42.5°) sponge, equipped with a moderate tension and a slight catapult effect. Good precision, control, and feedback. A balanced classical allround rubber (All), which still has sufficient room for more offensive actions!
- Victas VJ > 07 Limber: The softest table tennis rubber within the VJ > 07 series. Really fast & very elastic, with a rich sound! Considerable catapult effect, but always good control and a great feedback. Gaming strategy: Offensive (Off)!
