Sponeta S3-87 - A nice table for your outdoor fun!

There are several table tennis companies, many of them are located in Germany. Sponeta is also a German company located in a small city called Schlotheim, however, this company not only manufactures related to table tennis goods. Of course, here we are talking about table tennis and two major divisions of Sponeta are indoor and outdoor table tennis tables. The Sponeta S3-87e is an outdoor table tennis table and allows you to play in your garden or yard. Regarding the table, it does not matter whether there is sun or rain, or even snow .... here the player might be the limiting factor ;-) (However, protect the table from hail and make sure the wind is not making any damage.)

The S3 87e is made for hobby & recreational purposes and meets the criteria of the European Standard EN 14468-1. The manufacturer offers a warranty of 2 years from the date of purchase. The S3 87e is highly recommended for reunions, birthday parties, or simply for your free time - enjoy the pleasant outdoor season with your friends and/or family!

Note: The Sponeta S3 87e is technically (and price-related) identical to the S3 80e. The main difference is the color of the surface board: blue (87e) versus grey (80e).

Sponeta S3-87 - the surface board of this table

The surface board of the Sponeta S3-87e is - similar to most outdoor ping pong tables - made of melamine resin. It has a thickness of 5 mm, which we judge completely sufficient for hobby purposes. Melamine resins (melamine-formaldehyde condensation resins) belong to the category of synthetic resins. They are made of melamine and formaldehyde, which is bonded together belonging to the duroplastic plastics. Their properties are just ideal for outdoor tables: They are mechanically strong, thermically stable (e.g. well over 100 °C), and weather as well as light resistant. Mechanical impacts are critical, there is only a limited resistance (make sure to protect the table from hail). The same is true for acids or alkalis.

The surface color is blue and the melamine resin board is firmly glued onto the substructure. The frame profile mediates sufficient stability (L-36 mm) and it is powder-coated, the colors are either black or white.

The so-called base frame (Compact Type 4b) of the Sponeta S3-87e is also powder-coated, and also white or black. Designed as a round tube profile (40 mm), the stability is also sufficient. This table tennis table has 4 double wheels (diameter 128 mm, red with black rubber running surfaces), whereas all wheels are swiveling. Furthermore, the base frame also includes holders for your rackets and balls - very convenient! Thanks to the playback position, you can also do single training sessions. You can also compensate for unevenness in the floor up to 30 mm (in terms of the standing legs).

In order to lock and secure this ping pong table, Sponeta provides the SMS technology (Smart Manual System) with visible handles. A pull rod underneath the surface board unlocks both mechanical safeties simultaneously. The automated latching mechanism secures the S3-87e during the parking and playing position. The two spreader bars at the middle bottom of the table are grey.

Delivery information and other numbers of the Sponeta S3-87e

The delivery occurs from the manufacturer directly to your place, as we do not have such bulky items in stock. Please provide a correct telephone number for the shipping company when ordering. The shipping is executed via a two-man service, the notification is usually by phone. The carton/box marking includes the product description, article number, and GTIN code. The delivery time depends on where you are located. As already mentioned, you will receive an email from us with an expected delivery date.

The scope of delivery includes: Assembly instructions with language booklet and the net set "Primus I". Balls or rackets are not part of the delivery, but you can of course also order these. The net set "Primus I" is stationary, compact, and comprises stable net posts (coated by plastic). The height adjustment is achieved by a height adjustment screw. The net is black and made of synthetic fibers (plastic). A tension cord with a chain functions to tension the upper edge of the net.  The dimensions of the net are: Length = approx. 180 cm x height = 15.2 cm.

In the gaming/playing position the Sponeta S3-87e measures Length=274 cm x Width=152.5 cm x Height=76 cm (corresponds to the international tournament dimensions). In the parking position the dimensions are: L = 152.5 cm (with net: 185 cm) x W = 73 cm x H = 159 cm.

The packaging is a Type A single carton for the standing transport. The carton is quite stable and measures H = 162 x L = 144 x W = 9 - 15.5 cm (depending on the concrete model). At the bottom of the carton there is a transport foot (height approx. 2.5 cm) at the right and left side. Packaging and table weigh approx. 65 kg (gross weight), just the table weighs about 59.5 kg (net weight). It is recommended to mount this ping pong table in pairs, the duration is approx. 2-3 h.
