are available in a wide variety. Keeping track of everything is difficult even for experts. The following table of Tibhar table tennis rubbers with all manufacturer values is intended to help.
The following overview lists all currently common Tibhar table tennis rubbers.
In particular, the manufacturer-provided values for speed, spin, control, sponge hardness and playing strategy are made comparable. Tibhar provides very good values that can be used to make a material selection.
If you click on the column headers, you can sort the respective column and get an even better overview.

The technologies of Tibhar table tennis rubbers
"All table tennis rubbers come from one factory". This saying has been heard and read more and more often recently. Of course – ESN does a good job and helps top brands to new top rubbers every year. Tibhar rubbers, too, if "Made in Germany" is printed on them, are manufactured at the ESN factory. Therefore, they are of top quality, but still designed with the brand’s own specifications. In marketing, the following rubber technologies are described:
- SPI-System: This "Speedglue-Effect Inside System", specially created by Tibhar, makes it possible to consign speed gluing to oblivion. The very properties that once made speed gluing a MUST for professional players – spin, speed, sound, and unique ball feel – are now firmly integrated into the Tibhar rubber.
- Optra-Technology: With the Optra technique, spin is turned up to the maximum. Here, all available stroke energy is converted into speed. Every stroke can be given very high rotation, which in turn significantly stabilizes the trajectory of the ball.
- Clear-Technology: In this innovative manufacturing process of Tibhar rubbers, the particle size of the reaction chemicals has been drastically reduced. The dynamics of the rubbers are positively influenced by precise vulcanization while simultaneously improving durability. The surface appears crystal clear, yet is very grippy.
- Red Power Sponge: Tibhar rubbers with Red Power Sponge technology are among the most popular ever. The Evolution series is a guarantee for maximum performance. Supporting feel and precision in passive strokes is just as much a characteristic of these rubbers as a longer racket-ball contact time in topspin openings. In the active game, full power is available. The catapult effect inherent in Tibhar rubbers is dosed just right.
- PRO TENSION: The greatest advantage of the Pro Tension rubber surface is that enormous spin values can be generated. After years of research work, it has been possible to design a stable, spin-friendly and elastic topsheet.
- Synt Efficiency: This effect means that more catapult and dynamics can be developed. This technology was specially developed to meet the changes in ball trajectory and spin development of the new plastic balls.
Tibhar rubbers – which product series suits me?
With over 40 Tibhar table tennis rubbers, a very wide range is available on the market. Starting with allround rubbers that are suitable for learning techniques, refinement and safe play with block and counter, the series go into the offensive areas up to uncompromising attack.
Defensive rubbers from Tibhar: Assigned to pure defense are the Tibhar Super Defense 40 and its soft version Defense 40 Soft. One should not forget that sponge thickness plays an essential role. Through this variation (the thinner, the more controlled), much can already be achieved in terms of playing feel.
Typical allround rubbers from Tibhar: Probably the best-selling allround rubber from Tibhar is the Vari Spin. It is suitable for almost all playing techniques, so you can’t go wrong with it. Also regarding the selection of sponge thicknesses, many options are possible. Other product series that should fit the allround type are Vari Spin DTecs, Speedy Spin or Volcano (see Tibhar rubber table).
Tibhar rubber – controlled offense: For controlled offense, all Tibhar offensive rubbers in 1.8mm or 2.0mm are suitable. The soft versions Evolution FX P, Genius and Aurus Sound should also work in max, but one can be cautious, since control decreases the thicker the sponge gets. Recommendation: Genius, Aurus, Evolution series (note sponge thicknesses).
Tibhar rubbers for uncompromising offense: Clearly, the harder, the thicker, the faster. To be able to handle rubbers like Evolution MXP, MXS or Genius Optimum, you should have a very good ball feel.
No matter which Tibhar rubber is chosen. The rule is that you should neither overestimate nor underestimate yourself. A realistic view of your own ability, feedback from club mates and/or knowledge exchange with a trusted dealer will help. Feel free to contact
