The Donic BlueStar series - quality at the highest level

The German quality company Donic is a firmly established name in the table tennis sector and has become indispensable. Among the rubbers, the BlueStar series is known as a premium product for its enormous performance potential. These modern tensor hybrid rubbers basically consist of a dynamic tensor sponge and a slightly sticky surface. Together this results in an enormous speed and rotation potential.

Donic BlueStar A2 - Slightly softer than the A1, but still absolutely offensive!

Within the BlueStar series from Donic, the A1 is the most offensive version. However, the more offensive and faster (i.e. harder) a rubber is, the more professionally the player must act in order to master this rubber and utilise its full potential. This rubber is therefore a slightly softer alternative to counteract this. Nevertheless, it should be mentioned right at the beginning that the A2 should also be categorised as an absolutely offensive rubber (OFF / OFF+) and therefore a certain level of play is required. This rubber is not suitable for beginners.

Donic BlueStar A2 - The properties of the sponge

Let's start with the tensor sponge of the BlueStar A2. With a hardness of 50°, it is still hard, but slightly softer than the A1 (52.5°). It also has fine pores and is equipped with OPTE technology. This stands for Optimised Energy Sponge and sets new standards in terms of elasticity and damping. This results in a very catapult-friendly sponge, which acts very dynamically, directly, and quickly due to its hardness and thus optimally supports the characteristics of offensive players.

The surface of the Donic BlueStar A2

As already mentioned, the surface is slightly sticky, very grippy, and elastic. This means that the ball is "picked up and released" very well and therefore rotates very well. Here too, the manufacturer Donic naturally sets the highest standards in terms of development, production and processing.

Donic BlueStar A2 - Short conclusion

All in all, the Donic BlueStar A2 is a high-quality premium rubber, which is designed for offensive players thanks to its high speed, directness and rotation (generally very good with topspin). Due to the slightly reduced hardness (50°), it behaves comfortably when pushing and short-shorting, with a lot of spin potential. It is also easy to place during openings and flipping.
