Donic Bluestorm Z2 - The golden mean of this series
The
Donic Bluestorm Z2 has the same medium hardness as the Z1 (47.5°), but the Z2 has a sponge with larger pores. Due to the thin topsheet (upper layer of rubber), the rubber is -similarly to all rubbers of the new series- somewhat lighter compared to all predecessor models.
Furthermore, the long and thin pimples result in different properties: This rubber provides a slightly elevated trajectory of the ball, which is very suitable for
topspins with much spin (10+++). The integrated catapult effect provides enough dynamic (Speed 10+) in order exert
much pressure at sufficient control (7) (manufacturer specification). With those properties, it is indeed a real weapon for all variable attacking players.
If you prefer playing high-rotational topspins and punchy attacking shots at sufficient control, the
Donic Bluestorm Z2 will be the right choice for you. This is especially true for the above mentioned techniques performed at the table, but also from the half-distance.
The Bluestorm Z2 and the other Family members
Donic offers the Bluestorm Rubbers in the following versions, which exhibit different Speeds and other characteristics. Here you can find an overview:
Donic Bluestorm Z1 Turbo: The most brutal rubber within this series! OFF+!
Donic Bluestorm Z1: A bit more defensive than the Turbo version, but still very offensive!
Donic Bluestorm Z2: More balanced compared to the the Z1
Donic Bluestorm Z3: Equipped with a soft sponge, this rubber promotes control and feeling. Offensive moves are, however, still possible!
Donic Bluestorm Big Slam: Similar to the Z3, but with an intense, click-like sound.
