Victas ZX-Gear Fiber - The first strike of the new ZX Gear blades

Also the successful ping pong company Victas (name since 2017) has much to offer in terms of table tennis blades. Maybe some of you have already heard from the new Victas ZX-Gear series. In particular, the innovative material called Zexion® is probably very appealing to many material specialists out there! What is behind this material, and what properties the Victas ZX-Gear Fiber (weight approx. 90 g) has to offer, will be shown right below.

Victas ZX-Gear Fiber - A highly elastic, sensitive, but offensive table tennis blade!

As already mentioned above, the Victas ZX-Gear Fiber (by the way: made in Japan) is characterized by the implementation of a very innovative material: Zexion®. Zexion® is a very soft plastic, which is integrated as a fiber fabric into this new blade. This is also the reason and inspiration for its name, ZX Gear FIBER. The specialty of this blade is, however, that Zexion® is the only add-on used in the ZX Gear Fiber. There is no Carbon included.

Some of you might already presume that weaving such a soft and elastic plastic fiber (plus the exclusion of Carbon) leads to a very high elasticity. The softness of the Zexion® material also leads to a soft and very sensitive touch of the ball. Another aspect is the great feeling of the Victas ZX-Gear Fiber. All these characteristics assure that there is always sufficient feedback and control, no matter what. The huge amount of elasticity of the Zexion® fibers does not damp unpleasant vibrations to a similarly high extent as does e.g. Carbon (Carbon is way stiffer!). Although some unpleasant vibrations might hence still be present, there is an increased feedback which is a positive property.

Nonetheless, due to the properties of the veneers of the Victas ZX-Gear Fiber, it is a blade exhibiting a high overall speed, good penetrating power, and power. This is then reflected in the offensive (gaming style: Off) characteristics of this table tennis blade, which exhibits a great suitability for the topspin game close to the table, or from the mid distance (there, a high speed is possible!). Fortunately, one does not have to play without precision and the already mentioned feeling & elasticity. The new ZX Gear Fiber is a blade which provides a great and highly balanced mixture of both aspects.

As a summary, we have provided an overview of all blades from the new ZX-Gear series:

• Victas ZX-Gear Fiber: An offensive (Off) table tennis blade, which integrates innovative Zexion® fibers. These are mainly responsible for the soft touch and the great feeling.
• Victas ZX-Gear IN: This blade does not only include the Zexion® fibers (responsible for a very good feeling & control), but also Carbon (causes much power and pressure)! Both fibers are located in the inner area of the blade. Gaming system: Off / Off+!
• Victas ZX-Gear OUT: Similar to the Victas ZX-Gear IN, however, the Zexion®-Carbon-fibers are located far outside. Hence, this blade may be classified as being a little bit more offensive than the Victas ZX-Gear In. Still great control & feedback!
