Tibhar Evolution EL-D - A systematic presentation
The
Tibhar Evolution EL-D represents a successful further development of the Tibhar Evolution series and is designed for players who are looking for a flexible, dynamic rubber that is suitable for both aggressive attacking and precise counter-topspin. This model combines excellent grip and optimized ball contact time with a soft feeling that is still highly dynamic. The playing style benefits above all from the newly developed RED ENERGY SPONGE, a medium-hard sponge that enables a high level of energy absorption and release, thus offering the perfect balance between control and power. The following description is also based on field tests from our partner Marcel Arnold (TT-Spin).
Structure and material composition
This rubber uses a specialized topsheet that is particularly grippy and slightly matt. The dense, wide pimples of the topsheet are designed for flexibility and elasticity. The sponge itself has
medium pores, is medium-hard, and gives the rubber a dynamic rebound behavior, which is particularly effective on topspins. These material properties make the rubber a perfect partner for players who appreciate both soft ball strokes and high speed changes. Due to the relatively soft feeling, the rubber is easy to compress, which ensures good ball control.
Topspin and finishing strokes
In the area of topspin, this rubber convinces with its mixture of high speed and intensive spin development. The rubber provides a strong support for both fast and slow topspins, allowing players to work with
high spin without sacrificing dynamics. The ball release remains medium-high and promotes a controlled, varied topspin game. Only on final strokes can there be a slight loss of direct power, but this is compensated for by the high ball impact. This effect ensures
precise feedback during fast movements and makes it easier to control the ball speed.
Distance play and counter topspin
The Tibhar Evolution EL D shows its best side at the half distance: with a
rich sound and an
optimal ball curve, the game can be controlled and powerful at the same time. The rubber unfolds its full potential especially with counter topspins. The intuitive control enables precise and long rallies, while the medium flight curve allows for a good mix of fast and slow topspins. Players who operate at the half-distance and prefer flexible, dynamic strokes will find an excellent feeling here.
Dynamics and responsiveness
The early dynamic response enables effortless speed changes and a consistent play, even with demanding strokes. The controlled feedback also supports the player with difficult emergency shots, although minor deviations in the point of impact are noticeable in hectic situations. The
combination of catapult and elasticity ensures a stable balance between ball control and attacking power, which comes into its own in long, intense rallies.
Serve and return of serve
The Evolution EL-D is particularly well suited for varied serves. Even if its rotation level in this area is slightly below that of rubbers with more spin, this model
generates enough spin to force opponents to make mistakes. The rubber is designed so that serves primarily serve as preparation for an offensive play. Short-range returns can be challenging, as ball control on certain shots requires precise techniques. However, with active returns, such as the flip or the banana flip, an impressive spin curve can be created, giving the player valuable options in the short game.
Block, counter-attack and shoot
The rubber shows its
true strength in active blocking. With a remarkable length in the block and high precision, the opponent is constantly put under pressure. The rubber also delivers excellent dynamics on fast counter-attacking shots, making it possible to direct the ball directly into the offense.
Passive blocks can be controlled well thanks to the high feedback, which enables the player to force mistakes in the opponent's attack. In the shooting game, the rubber also unfolds its speed and provides consistent pressure on the table, especially in the balloon defense game, where the length and height of the ball can be easily controlled.
Conclusion: The Evolution EL-D at a glance
With the Evolution EL-D, Tibhar has created a rubber that offers impressive performance in the field of table tennis rubbers. This model combines a dynamic attacking ability with a soft but energetic ball attack and is
particularly suitable for variable, offensive players who prefer to play from the half-distance. The combination of control, dynamics, and flexibility makes it an exceptional playing partner. Even if the rotation values do not quite match the top models of the MX series, the EL-D scores with its unique elasticity and the balanced interplay of control and attack.
For players looking for a rubber that supports them in their variable offense without sacrificing flexibility, the Evolution EL D is the right choice.
The Evolution EL-D and the remaining rubbers from this family
It might indeed be a bit confusing considerung the size of this rubber family. Hence, we have created a little summary on the Evolution EL-D and the other rubbers:
- Tibhar Evolution EL-P: Large-pored, medium-hard sponge (hardness between MX-P and FX-P), and catchy topsheet. Good power and still fair control. OFF.
- Tibhar Evolution FX-P: (One of) the softest rubber(s) within this series. Very sensitive, great control, and feeling. Also very spinny and a nice sound. OFF- / ALL+.
- Tibhar Evolution MX-P 50: The successor model of the MX-P. More offensive: OFF+!
- Tibhar Evolution MX-P: Large pores and relatively hard sponge. Much power and penetration. Style: OFF / OFF+.
- Tibhar Evolution MX-S: Fast rubber (however slightly slower than the MX-P), but its focus clearly lies on spin.
- Tibhar Evolution EL-S: Slightly harder than the EL-P, hence, slightly faster. Improved spin capability.
- Tibhar Evolution FX-S: Soft sponge and extreme spin development. Gaming style: OFF-.
- Tibhar Evolution MX-D: Highly catchy topsheet combined with a hard power sponge. Any questions?
- Tibhar Evolution EL-D: Optimized ball-contact-time, catchy topsheet, and medium-hard sponge. Style: OFF.
- Tibhar Evolution FX-D: Another relatively soft / medium rubber compared to the other models from this series. Style: OFF- (/ OFF).
