Tibhar MK Carbon - Power through and through!

The German company Tibhar is known for high-quality products in the table tennis range and is a firmly established name. The Tibhar MK Carbon is one such blade, which we would like to introduce to you here. It reflects the highest Japanese craftsmanship in every detail and Kenta Matsudaira (a Japanese table tennis player born in 1991 who (as of 2024) was once ranked 9th in the world in 2017) was personally in charge of its development. This blade corresponds exactly to his ideas, which is why it bears his name.

As the name ‘Carbon’ suggests, synthetic veneers are also used here - not just pure natural wood. The 5+2 layered wood weighs around 85 g (81-89 g) and is therefore not a lightweight, but not particularly heavy either. All in all, the handling can be described purely subjectively as pleasant. The blade size is L 15.7 cm x W 15.0 cm and the handle is available in three variations (concave, straight, penholder).

The general playing suitability here is clearly offensive (OFF or even OFF+), depending on which rubbers are fitted. In general, the thicker the rubbers, the more offensive the overall result.

Focus on carbon in the MK Carbon from Tibhar

Two layers of the synthetic fiber carbon are used in the MK Carbon, and this has a massive effect on the playing behavior of the blade. Especially when the carbon layers are further out towards the outer veneer. Carbon is mainly made of carbon and processed as a fiber, which is arranged as a veneer layer. Carbon fibers are extremely light, but also extremely strong and kind of rigid. In other words, the blade is significantly stiffer and therefore more direct and offensive. The result is also a direct playing behavior paired with a lot of power.


However, as (soft) natural woods are also used, the result is a unique feeling that does not neglect feedback and control.
