DONIC – A German table tennis brand with great tradition
DONIC, the renowned table tennis brand, has built up a first-class reputation in the world of table tennis over decades. The brand was founded in 1978 by the former table tennis Bundesliga player Dr. Georg Nicklas. The brand name DONIC is made up of Doctor (DO) and Nicklas (NIC)In 1984, the table tennis brand was taken over by Karlheinz Schreiner, who had already built up the table tennis equipment supplier Sport Schreiner in Völklingen. A short time later the DONIC headquarters were moved from Cologne to Völklingen. In 1993, Karlheinz Schreiner's son, Frank Schreiner, took over the management of the company.
The DONIC brand name is closely associated with the Swedish table tennis legends Jan-Ove Waldner, Jörgen Persson and Mikael Appelgren, who have been brand ambassadors since the early 1990s and have won many world and European championship titles together. Today, DONIC is known worldwide for its high-quality table tennis products and supplies table tennis dealers in over 80 countries. From table tennis bats and rubbers to balls and tables, the brand offers everything a table tennis player needs. DONIC remains true to itself and its tradition while also relying on advanced technology to maximize player performance.
The company's motto is CREATE SUCCESS. This was one of the reasons why former world and Olympic champion Zhang Jike decided to join the DONIC team.
