Joola is a well-known German table tennis company producing, for example, rackets, balls, shoes, and textiles. Joola has a long-lasting history and can, hence, rely on much experience. One market which is also served by this table tennis company is related to hobby and recreation. This includes different practical table tennis sets, such as the Joola Set Family.

The set "Family" from Joola is, as the name already suggests, designed for fun and game with e.g. your family during your leisure. No matter if at home or at someplace else (like schools, clubs, events, etc.), there are no limits to your imagination!

Let us first start with the packaging. The Joola Set Family has a nice and practical case. All rackets and balls can easily be stowed there. This makes it easier when transporting this table tennis set, and protects it from dust and dirt. Thanks to a handle, you can also hang up the case. The design of the case is blue / black, which is pretty neat.

The Joola Set Family contains 4 table tennis rackets: These are completely assembled, meaning that the rubbers are glued onto the blade and the edge tape is mounted, too. Hence, you can start playing right away! The rubbers used are pips-in rubbers, meaning that the smooth part is directed outwards (in contact with the ball). The sponge thickness is 1.2 mm. The topsheet and sponge provide much control, feedback, and feeling. This is very important, because such rubbers are easier to play. Beginners and occasional hobby players do not (yet) have the perfect techniques and routine, hence, these slower, sensitive, and controlled rubbers are very suitable (in contrast to thicker and faster rubbers).

These "beginner-friendly" properties are also supported by the heart of the racket: The blade. This is made of 5 layers, whereas these are based on softer wood types also mediating control, feedback, and feeling. Of course you should keep in mind that the rackets from this Joola table tennis set do not take over you work whilst playing. You definitely have to play the ball over the net yourself :-) What else is there to tell you? The handle of the racket! Its shape is flared, which is very comfy for most players. Hence, the racket lies comfortably in your hand!

Last but not least: The balls of this set. These are made of plastic (no celluloid!) and exhibit a diameter of 40 mm. Strictly speaking, the diameter is slightly larger than 40.0 mm. Hence, these balls are also called 40+ balls. The Joola Set Family contains 10 balls, 5 of them are white, and 5 are orange-colored.

Of course, one clearly has to say that the quality of these rackets is not comparable to more professional equipment. But the latter is definitely also more expensive.
