Donic Burn ALL+ - Another fantastic blade within the Burn series!

The Donic Burn ALL+ is a table tennis blade very interesting for allround players, who prefer a low weight and a huge stability. The reason as to why this blade (approx. 80 g) is that stable is because the veneers are treated with the so called Thermic Burned Technology: For 24 hours, the veneers are dried at a high temperature. This eliminates remaining moisture so that the blade is free of subsequent deformation. As a consequence, its stability is also increased.

The ply structure of the Donic Burn ALL+ is made of 5 plies: The outer plies are made of Mahogany, the in-between plies are made of Awan, and the core veneer is made of Kiri. Compared to the OFF-, the ALL+ exhibits an even thinner core veneer. This change in veneer thicknesses is the main reason as to why the Burn ALL+ exhibits the most control and lowest speed within the Donic Burn series.

We will now tell you some facts about the wood types used in this blade: Mahogany, Awan, and Kiri. These types exhibit very different properties, which help you to understand the characteristics of the blade.

Donic Burn ALL+ - The wood types under closer examination

Let us get started with the outer plies made of Mahogany. There are several species, which are native to tropical areas around the world. Depending on the species, the trees may reach a height of up to 60 m with a trunk diameter of up to 3 m. Mahogany is a noble wood, which is medium-heavy (550 kg/m³), extremely strong (Young´s modulus: 13,500 N/mm²), and very hard (Janka hardness: 700). You can see that Mahogany is responsible for the speed, directness, and power this ALL+ blade has to offer!

The in-between veneer is made of Awan. Awan is a kind of an art term for a specific type of wood. Using this name, instead of its real name, might aim to prevent people from copying it. We found out that Awan is a relatively light wood. This is one major contributor to the control, feeling, and excellent feedback of the Donic Burn ALL+.

Last but not least: Let´s check out the core veneer of the Burn ALL Plus. This is made of Kiri: The tree is native to Central and West China. However, cultivations of this tree can also be found in Japan, Korea or North America. Kiri trees may reach a height of approx. 15 m. The wood is quite light (density: 300 kg/m³), not very strong (Young´s modulus: 4,380 N/mm²), and not very hard (Janka hardness: 250). Hence, Kiri is the other contributor promoting control, feeling, and feedback. Note that Kiri veneers are denser, more durable, and harder than e.g. Balsa layers. For this reason, Kiri plies are heavier and faster than Balsa plies. This highlights the suitability of the Donic Burn ALL+ as an allround plus blade.

From the above-mentioned properties we can summarize that the Donic Burn ALL+ exhibits an optimal feeling for the ball, no matter what the situation. In turn, this allows you to reduce the rate of avoidable mistakes. As already mentioned, the Burn All+ can not only be equipped with soft, but also with hard rubbers. This accounts for the fact that there are "normal", but also offensive allrounders. For spin-oriented players, this table tennis blade provides sufficient rotation. For powerful players who love it to exert pressure on their opponent, this blade allows hard attacking strokes, too.
