Victas ZX-Gear Out

Victas ZX-Gear OUT - An innovative Zexion® - Carbon - table tennis blade

The new and innovative blade series from Victas is called ZX-Gear, and was finished to be available in 2019. Similar to the Victas ZX-Gear IN, the Victas ZX-Gear OUT is also made of Zexion® and Carbon. However, there are some fine differences! These are mainly related to the location where these two innovative fibers are integrated into the overall blade.

Victas ZX-Gear OUT - A blade using the best materials for a hard and offensive game!

In case you have already put some effort in getting to know the new ZX Gear series from Victas, you will probably know that there are some similarities between the Victas ZX-Gear IN and the Victas ZX-Gear OUT. Both ping pong blades are based on a 5+2 ply structure, exhibit almost an identical weight (approx. 89 g), and are almost the same thickness, whereas the ZX-Gear IN is a bit thicker (5.9 mm) compared to the ZX-Gear OUT (5.7 mm). Furthermore, both blades are made in Japan.

Another aspect showing the similarities of both blades is related to how the innovative materials are implemented. For one thing, this is related to Zexion®. This plastic is very soft, extremely elastic, and is further processed resulting in fibers which are integrated in these table tennis blades. As you might already presume, Zexion® is responsible for the great elastic behavior, combined with a soft touch, much feeling, and control.

The second identical material is Carbon. Carbon is based on the element "C", which is also present as a fiber considering the ZX-Gear OUT and the ZX-Gear IN. Carbon is very light, but also extremely strong and stiff! This significantly promotes the offensive gaming characteristics including a pronounced directness of the balls, much power, pressure, and speed (very good energy transfer, also known as rebound effect).

The difference between both blades, the Victas ZX-Gear OUT and ZX-Gear IN, lies in the positioning of the Zexion®-Carbon-layers: In the ZX-Gear OUT, these are located far outside, directly underneath the outer veneer. This promotes the offensive characteristics of this blade to a larger extent compared to the ZX-Gear IN (since in this blade the fibers are located inward, around the core ply). Hence, the Victas ZX-Gear Out is slightly more offensive (Off / Off+) than the "In", and highly suitable for hard and rotational topspins close to the table. Please note that good control and feedback are still present in this table tennis blade. This is a nice feature considering its high amount of offensiveness.

Below you can find a short overview of all three blades from the Victas ZX-Gear series:

• Victas ZX-Gear Fiber: The ZX-Gear Fiber is an offensive blade (gaming system: Off). The highlight are the innovative Zexion® fibers, which mainly contribute to the soft touch and the great feeling!
• Victas ZX-Gear IN: A table tennis blade, which not only includes Zexion® fibers, but also Carbon fibers. Hence, there is a nice combination of a great feeling and control; & much pressure and power! Both fibers are located around the core ply. Gaming system: Off / Off+!
• Victas ZX-Gear OUT: This blade is quite similar to the ZX-Gear IN, HOWEVER: The Zexion®-Carbon-fabrics are located further out. Hence, the offensive properties induced by Carbon have a slightly increased and more direct influence. Still good feedback & control!
