When developing new table tennis rubbers, most manufacturers focus on the compensation of a speed difference comparing the former celluloid balls and the new plastic alls (the latter being slower). Pimplepark is a German brand that developed a slower rubber with best possible spin characteristics. The result of this effort is the Pimplepark Epos.This rubber consists of a relatively soft (approx. 36-38°) sponge and exhibits a comparatively weak catapult effect. The topsheet is, however, extremely catchy and even a bit sticky. The soft sponge results in a low basic speed, which in turn allows a great amount of control. Due to the highly catchy surface of the Epos, you can always play highly spinny balls. This not only supports variational defensive strokes, but also dangerous spin changes. If this is not enough to score, you can always exert pressure by means of rotational openers.

The Pimplepark Epos is available in four different sponge thicknesses. The two thin versions (1.0 and 1.4 mm) are recommended mainly for defensive players and passive allrounders.
