Victas Benedikt Duda AFC - The premium offensive weapon
Victas is a well-established brand in table tennis, which originated in 1931 (since 2017 under the name Victas). The TSP brand was also integrated in 2021. Table tennis blades are a firmly established division and today we want to introduce you to the Victas Benedikt Duda AFC. It was named after the German table tennis player Benedikt Duda (born 1994 in Gummersbach), who has already won several titles.
This blade combines an intelligent structure with natural wood veneers and synthetic fibers, which generally results in suitability as an offensive blade (OFF, OFF+). Of course, the rubbers used also play a role here. A total of 9 veneer layers are used, 4 of which are carbon-based (5+4). The weight is approx. 90/91 g, the blade size is 15.7 + 15 cm. The thickness of the blade is 5.5 mm.
The blade is available in concave (a.k.a. flared) and straight (handle shape), the dimensions are 100 x 23 (concave) and 22 mm (straight). The handle is also based on a blue and red design.
The role of carbon in the Benedikt Duda AFC
Carbon is a synthetic fiber based almost exclusively on carbon. The special feature of carbon fibers is that they are generally very light but also strong and, when processed as veneer, stiffen the blade. As a result, unpleasant vibrations are reduced and the sweet spot is increased (the area of the blade with the best properties for the ball). The blade also becomes significantly more direct and faster.
The Benedikt Duda AFC uses the so-called DSE technology: This combines 2 synthetic fibers (Aramid Carbon and Fleece Carbon), which increase the offensive potential, but also allow a certain control and feeling. The aramid carbon (combination of elastic aramid and stable & stiff carbon fibers) lies directly on the core veneer and increases the speed development and stability of this premium offensive blade. The outer, very elastic Fleece Carbon synthetic fiber increases the spin potential and also creates an extraordinary feeling for the ball.
All in all, the result is a blade that develops a lot of power and dynamics, especially with your own active attacking strokes. However, you can always rely on a certain degree of control and feedback.
