The Joola Shorty is indeed a bit more expensive, but this TT robot captivates with its multifunctionality, and its easy handling. No matter if during training sessions in a club, or at home: The Joola Shorty successfully demonstrates its abilities. This is true not only for beginners, but also for advanced TT players.

Joola table tennis robot "Shorty" - A good choice!

With the Joola Shorty, Joola was able to introduce a convincing table tennis robot to the market. You may ask yourself "Why?". Well, we´ll answer this question right away.

For this, let us first start with the different settings of the Joola Shorty. These include adjustments of the trajectory of the balls, and the speed of the balls (there are 8 different speed levels). You can use a remote control to do these adjustments. The scattering angle of the balls can also be chosen individually. There are also 8 different spin types, such as topspin, backspin, and various sidespin combinations. Additionally, the Shorty exhibits an oscillation function. You can also select from 9 different ball ejection frequencies (range: 25-85 balls per minute), and whether the balls shall be served directly, or indirectly. Indirect balls first touch the half of the table on which the robot is located.

You can place this table tennis ball machine anywhere on the table. However, in most cases, the Joola Shorty is placed at the end of the table (middle position). In terms of the assembly, you only need to put the ball container at the top, and screw it on (including the ball mixing rod). This is really easy, and quick! By the way: The ball container comprises approx. 150 balls, this is really good!

Table tennis robot Joola Shorty - Are there any downsides?

Are there any negative aspects of the Joola Shorty we should tell you? Well, there are, but not many, and most of them are self-explanatory. This includes the fact that the Joola Shorty cannot replace a real human player (But honestly, which table tennis robot can do that?). The Shorty is not capable of serving short and long balls in an alternating order, and this ping pong machine is also not capable of automatically collecting and re-ejecting the balls (no automated ball return system).

Another aspect is its weight: The Shorty weighs almost 10 kg. This is something, but is this a disadvantage? Decide for yourself, but keep in mind that the relatively high weight also stabilizes the whole robot. Finally, the ball collection net (included) saves time, energy (less annoying bending over), and keeps the balls considerably cleaner.

The Joola Shorty offers a wide variety of different functions and settings whilst exhibiting an easy handling, and a low price (very good price-performance ratio!). These features underline the suitability of this table tennis robot for beginners, and advanced table tennis players.
