Within the new Santoru table tennis blade series from 2020, we are happy to introduce you another blade: The Joola Santoru KL-c Outer, which is based on 7 layers. We admit that this blade is not from outer space, however, it is from Joola, one of the most popular and renowned table tennis companies. As it was already the case for the Joola Santoru KL-c Inner, the synthetic material used is Kevlar-Carbon. However, in the Santoru Kl-c Outer this is placed elsewhere. Also, the outer ply is different. Now, we want to present you this blade in a more detailed manner.Joola Santoru KL-c Outer - A bit closer, please!
As we have mentioned previously, there are two high-quality materials which play a decisive role in this new Joola blade. For one thing, this is Kevlar-Carbon, for another thing, this is Limba. Considering the cross-sectional structure of this blade, both materials are located far outside. The Limba plies even constitute the outer plies. Hence, the characteristics of both materials actively and considerably form the properties and behavior of the blade.Kevlar is a synthetic Aramid fiber, which exhibits a way larger strength compared to many other fibers. Kevlar is also known as Poly-p-phenylene-terephthalamide (PPTA), and is a Polyamide. Carbon, similarly of synthetic nature, is also very strong. Kevlar-Carbon is a sort of new Carbon fiber, which is very strong, tough, heat-resistant, and dimensionally stable. When using such fibers in a table tennis blade, they cause a significant increase of stiffness, which also reduces unpleasant vibrations. This also improves the precision of the blade. Of course, these properties also induce increased speed and power.
The outer ply of the Santoru KL-c Outer is made of thoroughly chosen Limba wood. Limba trees are native to regions south of the equator. They reach a height of up to 45 m, with a trunk diameter of up to 1.5 m. The wood is medium-hard (Janka hardness: 430), medium-dense (520 kg/m3), and quite strong (Young´s modulus: 9,400 N/mm2). This highlights its suitability for an offensive game. Also, Limba is widely known as a topspin wood, which is also fast, but not very elastic / springy. Hence, fast topspins are a particular strength of the Santoru KL-c Outer. Please note that Limba also mediates a soft feeling and good control.

- Joola Santoru KL-c Inner: A direct and fast blade, due to Kevlar-Carbon in the inside. Hinoki out: also fast, but still good to control with good feedback.
- Joola Santoru KL-c Outer: Kevlar-Carbon directly underneath the top layer (made of Limba). Limba is THE topspin wood!
- Joola Santoru 3K-c: Carbon fibers and Hinoki outer plies result in incredible dynamics and in a high speed!
