The
Joola TPE Nature is characterized by their natural, thoroughly selected veneers. The middle and intermediate layers are made of
Ayous. Ayous (Triplochiton sceleroxylon, also known as Abachi, Obeche, or Samba) is a tree which grows in tropical regions of West Africa, Nigeria, Cameroon, Ghana, etc. It reaches a height of 50 m, and exhibits a trunk diameter of up to 1.5 m. Ayous is light / medium-heavy (350 kg/m
3), medium-strong (Young´s modulus: 6,800 N/mm
2), and medium-hard (Janka hardness: 430). As table tennis veneer, Ayous is well-known for its
positive gaming properties. The moderate heaviness and hardness induce a
pleasant feedback of the ball (although the overall blade is offensive, and quite fast, see below).
Furthermore, the use of
White Limba is really noble, a real eye-catcher, and a real rarity. Limba trees are usually native to regions south of the equator. The tree grows up to 45 m in height, and its trunk reaches a diameter of up to about 1.5 m. Although Limba exhibits approx. the same hardness as Ayous, it is heavier (520 kg/m
3) and stronger (Young´s modulus: 9,400 N/mm
2). This emphasizes the suitability of this blade as an offensive one. Limba is well-known as a
topspin wood, which is also
quite fast, but not very elastic / springy. Furthermore, Limba has a
soft feeling, and quite a bit of control.
With an overall number of 7 veneers, the weight of the TPE Nature is between 85 and 90 g, which is very common considering offensive blades. No matter if hard shots or sensitive and aggressive topspins, the
Joola TPE Nature makes all attacking strokes possible. The classical Ayous intermediate layers result in a pleasant feeling for the game.
In case you don´t want to play without the "magic" effects of carbon, we recommend you the
Joola TPE Perform, which is almost equally fast. The TPE Perform behaves a bit more direct during the touch of the ball, and has a larger sweet spot area. If, however, you are searching for the uncompromising offensive (Off+) within the TPE family, you might consider the
Joola TPE Fight.
The product series of the Top Player Edition from Joola is a complete success, hence, Joola particularly recommends these TT blades. The main differences between them are described below:
- Joola TPE Feeling: This table tennis blade is perfect for the controlled attacking play (Off-). It is characterized by a good compromise between speed and control.
- Joola TPE Nature: Attacking play on both sides (gaming style: Offensive)! This blade is based on natural wood, and has a medium-hard touch, whereas speed dominates.
- Joola TPE Perform: A purely offensive TT blade (Off), based on natural wood + Carbon inlays. Hence, a very direct touch!
- Joola TPE Fight: A blade for the extreme attack (Off+)! Due to the carbon layers, the TPE Fight is very fast, direct, and powerful (however, at the expense of control)!
