The Xiom Feel AX is the ideal companion for a variable and successful attacking game (gaming style: offensive / offensive +). The Feel AX is made of 7 layers, which exhibit a very balanced behavior, and very positive gaming properties. Among the 7 plies, there are 2 Aramid-Carbon layers, and Koto outer veneers. The overall weight of this table tennis blade is about 84-87 g (which is quite low), and the overall thickness is approx. 5.8 mm.
But what are the reasons for such good gaming characteristics? First, the Xiom Feel AX is of high quality. This is not new, and a well-known pro considering Xiom blades in general. As you might know, the Aramid-Carbon layers result in an increase of speed, a higher stiffness, and an improved directness, especially regarding the touch of the ball. But what about the Koto plies?
Koto is native to West Africa, Nigeria, Ghana, and Cameroon. The Koto tree is approx. 30 m tall, with a trunk diameter of about 1 m. Koto is medium dense (590 kg/m3), quite hard (Janka hardness: 950) than Santos, and strong (Young´s modulus: 9,000 N/mm2). Koto plies are so called classical veneers, and these properties make Koto well-known for its fast and spinny gaming behavior. This results in a good and moderate speed, perfect for an Off(+) gaming style. However, the natural wood layers also exhibit a certain amount of "softness", feeling, and control. Hence, the touch of the ball is quite pleasant, for example.
To summarize, the Xiom Feel AX allows not only extremely rotational topspins, but also - due to the veneer structure - powerful attacks with much penetration power, and pressure. Note that there is always a certain degree of control available when using this TT blade! Furthermore, disturbing vibrations are reduced to a minimum.
