Table Tennis Rubbers

Table Tennis Rubbers are an essential and important part of a bat. This is because they are not only attached to the blade (which is -via the handle- also connected to the player), but also in contact with the ball. Rubbers may exhibit a vast variety of different properties. This strongly influences the characteristics of the ball behavior, e.g. regarding speed, feedback, rotation, and so on.

  7. Tibhar Ellen OFF

    Tibhar Ellen OFF

Tibhar Ellen Off - The faster brother of the Ellen Def

The names of both Tibhar Ellen rubber sare really self-explanatory. Next to the Ellen Def, which is of course more suitable for the passive antitop game, there is also the Tibhar Ellen Off. As its name already suggests, it is of course more offensive than the Def version. However, its gaming style is more related to the term "allround" rather than "offensive", which might be a bit misleading when reading its name.

The Ellen Off from Tibhar is equipped with a harder sponge (approx. 10° harder). This has various effects: The ball-contact-time is shorter, which increases the acceleration of the ball. Hence, the overall speed is higher. This behavior supports players, who are aiming to punish weak balls (coming from the opponent) by means of self-induced, active strokes. The Tibhar Ellen Off has a surface which is not prone to incoming spin. Also, the ball is decelerated in an effective manner, which allows a good control of strokes coming from your opponent, even in the case that these are quite powerful. These two aspects are true for both rubbers, the Ellen Def and the Ellen Off.

The Ellen Off, however, is harder, more powerful, and more dynamical, supporting an active game. This also allows you to include disturbing attacks into your game which is a perfect tool to disturb the rhythm of your opponent.

Tibhar Ellen Off - A brief summary on this rubber

All in all, the Tibhar Ellen Off is a great anti-topspin rubber when aiming to create unpleasant and disturbing strokes. Table tennis players who prefer not solely relying on passive moves, but also on a variable, active, and self-induced anti-topspin game, will be very happy with this rubber. The game will be quite unpredictable and dangerous for your opponent. The gaming style of this table tennis rubber corresponds to the allround style. Note that thicker sponges make the game more offensive.
