As of today, the Andro Hexer series comprises eleven (!) different high-quality rubbers. Among these, you can find different rubbers for offensive gaming systems, but also rubbers with pips out.
The powerhouse for the plastic ball: Andro Hexer Powergrip
One of the more recent developments from Andro is the
Andro Hexer Powergrip, a table tennis rubber made for the game for the new plastic ball. A hard (47.5 °), coarse-pored sponge causes a pronounced speed-gluing effect and much power. The catchy topsheet, which is made of pure natural rubber, causes a high trajectory of the balls and an extraordinary development of spin. Both components are perfectly matched to each other so that there is a harmonic, constant, and precise overall gaming behavior. The classification of the
Andro Hexer Powergrip is definitely the modern attacking game based on rotational & powerful topspins no matter what the situation.
The Hexer with the high definition performance: Andro Hexer HD
The
Andro Hexer HD is slightly harder and more offensive than the classical Andro Hexer. The harder sponge induces a strong speed-gluing effect, which is united with a catchy topsheet made of natural rubber. The topsheet exhibits a special micro structure resulting in a higher overall speed, an efficient energy transfer, and an above-average durability. The prolonged ball-contact-time and the effective feedback make sure that the Hexer HS has sufficient control no matter what stroke you are doing. Due to these properties, this table tennis rubber from Andro is characterized by its dynamical and variable (but still safe!) offensive game.
A plus in speed and spin: Andro Hexer+
Compared to the regular Andro Hexer, the
Andro Hexer + (Andro Hexer Plus) is equipped with a medium+ sponge and a newly developed spinny topsheet. Hence, this rubber exhibits a slightly increased overall speed, an optimized potential for rotation, and a flatter trajectory of the ball. Even at the same level of physical effort, the Pace Performance induces a higher amount of speed and spin. At the same time, the
Andro Hexer+ behaves very precisely and is -comparatively- easy to control. This results in optimal gaming properties, which are important to create a high degree of flexibility when doing attacks close to the table or from the mid distance.
Maximum grip when attacking: Andro Hexer Grip
The
Andro Hexer Grip is equipped with the same topsheet (made of natural rubber) as the Andro Hexer Powergrip. However, the Grip version has a green-colored, medium-hard (45°), and coarse-pored sponge. This sponge not only increases control whilst decreasing the susceptibility to errors, but also provides sufficient power and an effective catapult effect. This is very important when doing rotational and dangerous attacks. The spin potential is further amplified by the high trajectory of the ball and the topsheet (which is perfectly matched to meet the requirements of the plastic balls) already mentioned above.
The rubber for effective topspins: Andro Hexer
The regular
Andro Hexer has rightly made a name for itself over the course of years and is a very popular Andro table tennis rubber. Responsible for this success is the combination of an orange-colored, quite hard (47.5°) sponge with a flexible topsheet made of natural rubber. The gaming behavior of this table tennis rubber is more sensitive and softer than the sponge hardness would make you presume. Also, the
Andro Hexer is comparatively less prone to spin, which causes a better tolerance in terms of errors. All in all, the high trajectory of the ball, an efficient speed-gluing effect, and the high spin potential make this table tennis rubber from Andro perfect for topspin-pronounced attacks.
The soft version: Andro Hexer Powergrip SFX
In terms of the gaming properties, the
Andro Hexer Powergrip SFX is a mix of the Powergrip with a softer sponge combined with the new SFX technology. The fine-pored and soft (42.5°) sponge of the Powergrip SFX, combined with the catchy Powergrip topsheet, result in very pleasant and balanced characteristics. Particularly the good control, the high error tolerance, and the astonishing sound when attacking are paramount. The Hexer Powergrip SFX from Andro is very suitable for attackers who rely much und control and spin.
The allrounder with great control: Andro Hexer Duro
For active allrounders who prefer blocks and counters, the
Andro Hexer Duro is probably the best option within this rubber series. A medium-hard sponge as well as an optimized topsheet cause an enormous control and a very pleasant feeling for the game, but still sufficient power for effective topspins and finishers. Due to the catchiness of the topsheet, there is a prolonged ball-contact time with positive effects on the error rate. Also, the Duro topsheet (100% natural rubber!) allows a relatively high durability of these great gaming properties.
The active allrounder for plastic balls: Andro Hexer Grip SFX
When being compared to the Hexer Grip, the
Andro Hexer Grip SFX is similarly suitable for the new plastic ball and equipped with the same catchy topsheet made of natural rubber. However, the Grip SFX exhibits a fine-pored sponge with a clearly lower hardness score (40°). The soft sponge is perfectly matched to the topsheet, resulting in a very harmonic gaming behavior. The
Andro Hexer Grip SFX is the ideal table tennis rubber for all power allround players, who need maximum control and highest precision. This rubber is also very suitable for players who want to serve active balls with much rotation and spin.
Soft, but still dynamical: Andro Hexer Powersponge
The softest version within this rubber series is the
Andro Hexer Powersponge. The soft rubber further prolongs the ball-contact-time, hence, giving you more time to react. This also has a very positive effect on the overall feedback and feeling. Please note that the Powersponge from Andro easily transfers incoming energy. Due to this, the Hexer Powersponge has sufficient dynamics to allow variable attacks. All allround players will most likely cope well with this rubber.
Short pips out: Andro Hexer Pips and Andro Hexer Pips+
The Andro Hexer series is rounded off by the models
Andro Hexer Pips and
Andro Hexer Pips+. Both rubbers unite a tensor sponge with the well-proven Hexer technology based on short pimples. Also, both rubbers exhibit a pimple-rubber made of pure natural rubber, which causes a higher durability and more constant gaming properties over the course of time. During the passive game both versions exhibit good control and mediate a pleasant feeling for the game.
All in all, the Pips+ is a bit faster and, hence, more offensive than the Pips. However, it is important to mention that not only active counters, blocks, and shots, but also demanding topspins go off the hand very easily with both rubbers. The
Andro Hexer Pips and the
Hexer Pips+ can be differentiated from comparable rubbers with pips out by the so called Eclectic Performance. This feature allows you to choose between a longitudinally and transversally aligned geometry of the pips. This is advantageous because the rubber, depending on how it is mounted, can be perfectly matched to your own gaming system and preferences. In terms of this, the following applies: 0° = more speed, 90° = more spin and control.
summary on the Andro Hexer rubbers
Yet prior to the introduction of the new plastic balls, the
Andro Hexer rubbers were a very familiar term for many players, and much of them indeed used rubbers from this series. Due to the complement of the new rubbers made for the plastic ball, many players of very different gaming styles and needs can now still rely on the Andro Hexer table tennis rubbers.
