Also for 2019, the successful table tennis company Victas has projected new blades for the ping pong market. Maybe some of you have already heard of these: The blades from the ZX Gear series. Of course, we want to provide you a summarizing report on these, but we also want to present you some facts regarding the table tennis brand Victas.

A company with a long-lasting tradition - Victas

It may indeed be the case that some of you don´t know Victas the way others do. Maybe this is based on the fact that the name "Victas" already exists since 2017. Prior to this, there was another name - the Yamato Takkyu AG - which was founded a long time ago (way back in 1931). During this time and the following years, the company was specialized in producing and selling celluloid ping pong balls.

As you already know, the table tennis market has changed considerably since the 1930s. There are new materials and products constantly showing up. This process is still present, and this will probably not change in the future. Hence, also the manufacturers of table tennis articles had to adapt constantly. This was also the case considering Victas, which coped this process. Nowadays, Victas offers all kinds of table tennis products.

The word "Victas" carries a concrete meaning. "Victas" is based on the English word "victory" and the Japanese word "ashita" (which means "tomorrow"). Hence, Victas stands for the slogan: "Defeat the champions of today, and become the winner of tomorrow!" With this, the company wants to emphasize something in particular, which is in line with the TSP slogan (Total Support for Players). Victas wants to approach and optimally support all table tennis players, no matter if hobby player or professional. This is not only true for playful aspects, but also included social and interpersonal aspects. Table tennis is the means to an end. For this, Victas offers the best possible material, combined with innovative product technologies. Of course, this is also true for the new blade series Victas ZX-Gear!

The new Victas ZX-Gear blades - A summary

Let us now talk about the new Victas blades form the ZX-Gear series. When comparing them with each other, there are -as is usually the case considering families- some differences, but also some similarities. In terms of the latter, all Victas ZX-Gear blades are made in Japan and mostly offensive. Also, they are based on a highly soft and extremely elastic plastic (Zexion®), which is present as an innovative fiber (woven and thereby integrated into these blades). This causes a very high and pleasant control, combined with a great feeling and feedback. As already mentioned, there are also some differences between the ZX Gear blades. For this, we want to provide you a small overview regarding the blades from the Victas ZX-Gear series:

The Victas ZX-Gear Fiber is an offensive (Off) table tennis blade, which exclusively includes the soft and highly elastic Zexion® fibers. These are the reason for a soft touch and much feeling. Additionally, the other veneers are responsible for offensive characteristics.

The Victas ZX-Gear IN has a similar structure, however, there are not only Zexion® fibers, but also Carbon fibers integrated into this blade. Both materials are located deep within the blade, surrounding the core ply (explaining the name "IN"). Carbon is a material which is extremely stiff and light. Hence, Carbon further promotes the offensive characteristics (much power und pressure, hence Off / Off+). Note that there is still sufficient feeling and control.

Last but not least: The Victas ZX-Gear OUT. As the name of this table tennis blade already suggests, the Zexion®-Carbon-fibers are not located deep in the blade, but far outside (directly underneath the outer ply). Hence, the offensive properties of Carbon are a bit more pronounced compared to the ZX-Gear IN. Nonetheless: Due to the Zexion® fibers, which are also located far outside, there is always good control, feeling, etc.!
