The basis of this blade is the TSP Swat, which is a very successful blade and very popular, especially in Japan. In Japan, it developed into a real classic! The whole TSP Swat series is now extended by another table tennis blade: The TSP Swat Carbon. Whilst the classical TSP Swat exhibits a very pronounced feeling for the ball (resulting in an ideal compromise between speed and control), the focus of the TSP Swat Carbon was clearly shifted toward speed.
The reason for this is based in the veneer structure. In total, there are 7 layers, including 2 Carbon layers (one on the forehand, the other on the backhand). Carbon is a very strong and stiff material. Hence, when implemented in ping pong rackets, Carbon makes the whole blade stiffer and more stable. This considerably reduces unpleasant vibrations, increases the directness of the blade, and significantly increases the penetration power and speed!
Weighing only 85 g (the weight normally varies a bit), the TSP Swat Carbon is relatively light. According to the manufacturer specifications, the thickness of the head is 6.0 mm. Even if no Carbon would have been integrated, this thickness already suggests extreme speed characteristics! With Carbon .... well you can see our point :-) During blocks and counters in particular, the Swat Carbon from TSP exhibits a harmonically working catapult effect. Its major strength is when doing finishers or hard topspins. In case you prefer the game close to the table, the TSP Swat Carbon is the perfect basis for a real attacking weapon, especially when using fast rubbers. Hence, the gaming style "OFF+" is absolutely justified.
