Of course we also mount your new Donic bat. And this is how it works (the following options can be chosen at every single table tennis blade):

• choose Donic blades with an appropriate type of handle
• let us mount your ordered rubbers (decide for yourself which color should be used for your forehand / backhand)
• sealing of the blade - select between "yes" or "no"

As soon as the articles you want (e.g. 2 rubbers, and one blade) are transmitted to us, we´ll initiate the assembly. We definitely recommend you to seal your blade (either by us, or by yourself)!! If you do not seal your blade, it´ll be very difficult to remove the old rubbers from the blade. In many cases you can even tear out fibers and particles from your blade. Note that the rubbers wear out after 30-50 hours of playing, and lose their properties.

The philosophy behind the material of Donic table tennis blades

In terms of the classification of technical details and gaming styles, the manufacturers of each single Donic blade assume that every player has his/her own gaming character. By using the table above, we are sure that you will find a suitable blade for yourself too!

The performance capability of blades and rubbers is not only one-dimensional. There is a certain basis which leads to a compact assessment:

• DEF: Defending players using spin as defense.
• ALL: Various table tennis techniques are used: Shots, topspin, spin, backspin, and so forth. They are more or less equally weighed. The game is characterized by tactics as well as a proper ball placement, and not by speed and hardness.
• Off - with focus on spin: The structure of the game is introduced/started using topspin, and finished form the half distance, or close to the table.

Off - with focus on smash: This gaming style sets speed over spin. The game is dominated by shots and hard blocks. For this, many players choose short pimples, especially for their backhand.

Technical details of Donic blades

The weight of Donic blades

Of course there are more heavy and lighter Donic blades, depending on what kind of wood was used. A light Donic blade is the Donic Cayman, for example. Its weight is approx. 70 g, however, there are usually small fluctuations because of the manufacturing process.

There are no very heavy Donic blades. The highest weight is approx. 90 g, the mean weight of all listed Donic table tennis blades is 83.7 g.

Speed and control

Donic blades and Donic rubbers behave similarly. The components speed and control usually behave in the opposite direction. Hence, the following rule applies:

• the higher the speed, the smaller the amount of control
• the higher the control, the smaller the speed (slower)

Many players search for the best possible compromise between speed and control their entire lives. It is likely that there is no perfect table tennis blade. Considering the large choice of Donic blades, however, there is definitely something suitable for you too. The fine-tuning and final optimization is achieved by appropriate rubbers.

The types of handles of Donic blade

Donic offers the classical handle types: flared, straight, and anatomical. Dotec-blades constitute a specialty, since those are designed for right and left handed persons.

The flared type of handles is the most common form. This is because this type lies safe and sound in your hand, whilst exhibiting much comfort. Furthermore, one can act quite variably with such a flared handle. The straight handle is often used by higher-class-players. Maybe this is because one can be a bit harder and more powerful at the final stroke. However, there is no evidence to proof this observation. Donic blades with an anatomical handle exhibit a small arch (curvature). Due to this, the bat is lying quite firmly in the hand, and does not slide.

Dotec blades from Donic are made of cork, and are equipped with special handles suitable for left and right handed persons. First, many people laughed, and did not take such blades serious. Nowadays, this has changed, and Dotec blades are quite popular in district leagues.

The elasticity categories of Donic blades

For Donic blades, there is one characteristic that is, in contrast to other brands, communicated in a very open, straight and public manner: The elasticity of table tennis blades:

When the ball hits the bat, the feeling for the ball is mediated by means of control. The elasticity of the blade is a decisive feature regarding the amount of vibrations (at the blade) and, hence, the amount of feeling for the ball at its impact. Each player favors her/his individual level of elasticity. For Donic, there are five elasticity categories which decide regarding the amount of vibrations / elasticity:

• elastic: A clearly perceivable swinging, and a pronounced (area of) impact are mediated. Example: Defplay Senso Classicy.
• control-elastic: There are no disturbing vibrations at ball impact. Furthermore, there is very good control. Especially suitable for the gaming style allround. Example: Donic Waldner Allplay.
• speed-elastic: Using such a blade you can still feel the elasticity, but at decreased amounts. There is a clear perception of ball impact, however, such blades are already stiffer, and exhibit more penetrating power. Example: Donic Waldner Senso V1.
• almost stiff: Only minimal vibrations at a very intense feeling for the ball. Such blades are usually fast Donic blades, such as the Ovtcharov Original Senso Carbon.

stiff: An uncompromising speed is the main focus of such blades. Hence, there is only little control, which should be kept in mind. Example: Donic Epox Topspeed.

Conclusion to Donic table tennis blades

No matter what Donic table tennis blade you might consider, the manufacturer really put much thought into the classification of these products. This is particularly true in terms of the criteria for stiffness.

It is a pity, however, that the speed sector is characterized by numbers such as 6+ or 8+. Sometimes, this makes it hard to compare these products with others, since others may use another range of numbers etc.
